Lekker Songs To Help You Keep On Track In 2023 And Beyond

Read Time:4 Minute, 13 Second

Your attention…, Please, take a listen to this. Out Of The Ashes is a soothsayer of a song ne, ane…, A soul-sense-full tune. Rich! It is a title song from a 1996 album released by a great African band named Stimela. Ah! Sithetha ngobani na, ntozakuthi? Ama-grootman answembu of evergreen tunes like Sishovingolovane, Zwakala, Phinda Mzala…, Kwamambala sikhuluma about the likes of Ray Chikapa Phiri, Nana Coyote Motijoane, Jabu Sibumbe, Isaac Mnca Mtshali, Lloyd Lelosa, Thapelo Khomo, Charlie Ndlovu, Ntokozo Zungu….,

Now, a monumental line rises like a Phoenix…,  Jama! Iye, cala…, khese ujame uyicalisise kuhle into le. Arha ke…, Yes, watch from Out Of The Ashes as the lyrics gently jump like sparks. The purpose of their illumined leap is to teach – day and night school learning things, you know. As waar, the song words educate better than that R22 Million (lighting in the dark) miracle flag of minister Nathi Mthethwa …, Das right, therefore, take it away, you beauty of a vocal master Tsietsi Motijoane.

“..., TOMORROW IS NOW!”

You know what I am saying…, Vele-vele, tomorrow is now. Indeed, onaleng tsebe uzozizwela for self, direct from umlomo ka Coyote ongaculi manga. Yeah! Baby Nana, sing um…, “Prepare the soil (now) for the planting. Sow the seeds so we can bear fruits…”  Here…, hear the complete song version for yourself.

Now, About Those Resolutions

So, rumour has it these are the early days of a new year. Ehe! That is the grapevine gospel according to a Western Gregorian calendar imposed in 1582 by Pope Gregory XIII. Ngakho ke, of, therefore…, New year resolution makers have been at it, laying out all sorts of plans for days ahead. You know, things of how they see and desire 2023 to unfold – especially where personal and career life gets concerned. But then again, like in other years, some brilliant ideas and visions will fade into thin air or never see the light of day. Well, because of procrastination – among others. Also…, As amaNdebele ekhethu put it, izinto z’ningi ephasin’…,a! OH! YEAH! Does the following sound kind of familiar?

‘Let me rest, relax, mentally loiter, play with myself (or with other children) and enjoy my life. After all, size emhlabeni ukuzo enjoya – that is it. As for work…,  Well, tomorrow. ‘

Once again, sing um Coyote…, TOMORROW IS NOW!

Well, there is also that dream shuttering and conveniently-created reality. You know the narrative saying there has, first among others, to be a stash of cash for dreams to come true. So, owing to the lack of money, plenty of wealth and job creation initiatives shall get buried in 2023. In the arts, the National Arts Council will not fund some fantastic proposals not because of lack of funds – simply because of some shallow reasons or persons. So, unless a massive change of attitude, mind and approach happens – the graveyards of dreams shall once more grow fat from the piles of proposals and ideas that could have dazzled multitudes.

But, creative dreams should not get deferred because of the failures of state administration, its institutions and some pea-brained leaders or administrator fools. How about, for inspiration, drumming up support from the music of the drummer Vusi Khumalo? Nangempela, Musa ukudinwa, follow your dreams.

Meet The Survivor Of Threats, Bribery, Bullying And Attempted Murder

For three decades, all sorts of hurdles got thrown his way. But like slender no get tired, Freddie Nyathela followed the path of selflessness and a dream of empowering African youth. Today his South African Roadies Association (SARA) has an impressive track record of producing hundreds of economically productive youth working in sound and technical services. Of course, the cherry on top – Sara owns a two-story prime property in Newtown. When we talk about the chief roadie, we say…, ‘Aaah! uTa Freddie akathi k’sasa. His actions say Tomorrow Is Now.

From the Roadies, a lesson to learn is that there may be no the money…, But with a vision, passion and determination – the ceiling and the sky are no limits. Therefore, mncwii, strue, nasi kwamambala…, It begins (NOW) with you acting. Come now, rebell against unproductive or self-destructive-doubting habits and avarice. Most of all, conquer fear.

In conclusion, shall we close this sermon weaving a four-play of songs and lyrics? Abeg! Abeg! Put them on high rotation in your heart and mind. Moreover, let the lyrics guide your steps and actions. The first two lines from Stimela advise that…,

Tomorrow Is Now (so) Go On Living Your lifeYour life is in your hands. Then a command comes from the song Now Or Never by Sankomota – Tsoha o e Ketsetse. Because as talented ones sing um…, Yeah Sun-El Musician and Ami Faku eloquently lay it …, Into Ingawe.
